If you’re going to go to a horse show in late October, best be headed south to the incredible venue that is now the crown jewel of “The Horse Capital of the World”—Ocala. The World Equestrian Center is simply a facility that has no equal, and the long trip south is certainly worth it to be able to showcase our talent to an appreciative crowd.

Melissa & Novella telling each other what a great job they did!

Making the trip south for this second annual show were three talented teams. Melissa Ferrere and NOVELLA (The Mystery Writer x Elan, by CH The Talk Of The Town), who warmed up with a third place ride in Five-Gaited Pleasure ASHBA Select, then did their homework and came back to claim top honors in the ASB Five-Gaited Pleasure Championship.

Kelly Lynch’s QUEEN OF MEMPHIS (Bluesville x Broome Street, by I’m A New Yorker) put on quite the show and was reserve in her ASB Five-Gaited Ladies qualifier, then finished a strong third in the Ladies Championship with Alicia Owens in the irons.

NICK CARAWAY (I’m A New Yorker x Caraway BHF, by CH Caramac) and Emilia Fish were made a triumphant return to the show ring after a major back surgery kept Emilia out of the saddle for nine months. This ASB Three-Gaited Show Pleasure pair looked like champions to us, no matter their placing! They maneuvered through two large classes like pros and we’re sure they’ll be back with a vengeance in 2023.
