THAT’S A WRAP!

A thrilling week at the 2022 Morgan Grand National & World Championship Horse Show

Our stars were on fire all week turning in incredible rides and drives from start to finish. It could never have happened without the assistance of our entire Scottfield team. Special mention to Greysen Fors and Erin Sopp for their expertise and hard work all week, and extra special thanks to Beth Mitchell for helping with set up and tear down. You rock!

EKL THE FIRE INSIDE (EKL Shakedown x EKL Joyfull Vision), shown by Whitney Bodnar at Willow Ridge Farm, owned by the Tear It Up Partners (Eli & Rebecca Lapp, Tuffy & Alicia Owens) made a clean sweep of the Yearling Gelding division with wins as the Grand National Champion, as well as the Futurity Yearling Gelding World Champion.

VDM GAME ON (Leonardo’s Cry CH x Megan’s Perfection), owned & shown by Alicia Owens, earned accolades in the 4YO Park Saddle qualifier with a respectable Top Five placing, earning a 3-4-5 in one of the most competitive classes of the show. This guy will be a force in the 2023 season!

VDM PRINCE (Minion Millennium x Graywood’s Morgase) and Jennifer Noris capped off their first season together here with three well ridden showings earning Top Five in the Youth and Amateur Grand National qualifiers and turning in a terrific showing in the Amateur World Championship. We are so proud of this team!

R’SURENE KANTAMOS (MEM Bailamos GCH x R’Surene Carasu) and Beth Ann Grella were also putting the icing on a debut season in the Classic Pleasure Driving division. Their excellent drives in Masters and Stallion/Gelding classes were perfect to send them into practice toward 2023.

HWDY MOON LIGHT (CBMF Over The Moon x SpringMill Light My Fire) and Ava Musolino make a beautiful pair and their Top Five ride in the Grand National 4YO Classic Pleasure class was a pleasure to see. This young team also earned respectable placings in Grand National Classic Pleasure 16-17, as well as the Classic Pleasure Saddle Junior Horse World Championship.

VDM HOT TO TROT (Leonardo’s Cry CH x Vanessa Queen) and Elizabeth Mitchell were another first season together team that were impressive in tough Amateur English Pleasure Masters classes. A winter of work and this team will age like fine wine, getting better and better!

SOMEONE LIKE YOU (Cedar Creek Flambeau GCH x QVM Jocelyn Rose GCH) and Jennifer Norris were consistent in both rides for Top Three in Amateur Ladies Mare and Amateur Mare Grand National Championships. We’re excited to watch this team mature over the winter.

SFS JOHNNY DRAMA (Ultras Special Agent x LSF She’s Come Undone) and Sophie Esarco took their third place in the AMHA Saddle Seat Gold Medal Finals and their Reserve Grand National Championship in the Saddle Seat Equitation 14-17 and turned them into roses to top the competitive Saddle Seat Equitation 14-17 World Championship. We are so proud of this pair, as Johnny was bred and born here at Scottfield and Sophie is also a Scottfieldian lifer!

FCM PRINCE OF ROCK N ROLL GCH (Town Assets x LNT Mary Mary) enjoyed putting smiles on the faces of both Alicia and Kate Kielceski during OKC week. Kate and Prince were sixth in a highly competitive Grand National English Pleasure Amateur Ladies Gelding class, then Alicia stepped up and rode Prince to Reserve Grand National Champion English Pleasure Ladies Gelding. It was a special thrill for Alicia and Prince to then wrap up the week as the English Pleasure Ladies Reserve World Champions!

EKL SHAKEDOWN (Centerpiece x EKL Standing Sensation) and Alicia performed in a perfect partnership on Friday evening, earning their second consecutive Open Park Harness World Championship. This grand stallion was headed and assisted by Mike Goebig, to whom we owe a debt of gratitude for his expertise. It was the perfect cap to a wonderful week and we can’t wait for 2023!
